About Us

Progress with a Purpose

Function Forward Occupational Therapy, LLC was founded in the spring of 2026 with a mission to provide personalized, one-on-one occupational therapy services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

At Function Forward Occupational Therapy, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to build skills that support independence, confidence, and meaningful participation in everyday life. Our services focus on helping individuals develop and strengthen essential functional abilities that promote greater autonomy at home, in the community, and in the workplace.

Through individualized therapy sessions, we work on a variety of important life skills, including independent and functional living skills, sensory processing, community integration, job preparation, and more. Each therapy plan is tailored to meet the unique strengths, needs, and goals of the individual.

Our approach is centered on empowering individuals to move forward with confidence—building the skills they need to live fuller, more independent lives.

About Me

Get to Know Me

I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where my passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) began at a young age. My youngest brother was born with Down syndrome, and growing up alongside him greatly influenced my decision to pursue a career in occupational therapy. Through that experience, I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of supporting independence, confidence, and meaningful participation in everyday life.

I graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences, and went on to earn my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Rockhurst University in 2023. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with the IDD population and have developed a strong passion for helping individuals build the skills they need to live more independent and fulfilling lives.

Function Forward Occupational Therapy was created to help bridge the gap for individuals who want to continue building important life skills after high school or participation in 18–21 transition programs. My goal is to support individuals as they continue working toward greater independence, confidence, and success in their daily lives, whether at home, in the community, or in the workplace.
